9. Maitake Mushrooms/Matsutake mushrooms

It is usually just grilled by itself after a light soy sauce marinade and served with rice. This is the most expensive mushroom due to its rareness. The most popular is associated with the Japanese Red Pine which yields a harvest of less than a thousand tons annually. These pieces of fungus would cost you US$1,000.
8. Zillion Dollar Fritata Lobster Fritata

7. Craftsteak’s Wagyu Ribeye Steak
Probably one of the most famous and mouth-watering on the list, the beef from cows exclusively raised from Kobe, Japan are thought to be the healthiest of its kind. It has high percentage of Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and has acceptable ratio of monounsaturated to saturated fats. Cows here are fed with beer and massaged regularly to ensure tenderness. The VIP treatment for the cows pretty much explains the US$2,800 price tag.
6. Domenico Crolla’s Pizza Royale 007
If you want to live the luxurious life of the elite spy James Bond while having a casual dish, Scottish chef Domenico Crolla got your back. He created a 12-inch pizza filled with cognac-marinated lobsters, champagne-soaked caviar, tomato sauce, Scottish smoked salmon, prosciutto, venison medallions, vintage balsamic vinegar, and topped with 24-carat gold flakes. Prepare to shell out US$4,200 for this pizza.
5. Densuke Black Watermelon
Did you find it odd that a watermelon made it to the list? We do, too! However, this kind of watermelon is so rare only a few dozen gets harvested every yield. Plus, according to the account of those who tasted it, the level of sweetness is incomparable and the crispness is just perfect. The price would depend on the weight of the fruit, but the most expensive one was once sold at US$6,100.
4. Yubari King Melons
True to its name, the Yubari King Melons are fit for royalties. The species is very rare, only grown in Japan’s greenhouses. Just like the Densuke Watermelon, it is sought after due to its unique sweetness and proportion. This fruit is actually auctioned for purchase, with one sold at a staggering price of US$23,000 to a souvenir shop and seafood lunch restaurant owner.
3. Frozen Hot Chocolate
Called ‘The Frrrozen Haute Chocolate,’ this dessert contains 14 of the world’s rarest and most expensive cocoas from Africa and South America, milk, ice cubes, whipped cream, and shavings from the world’s most expensive truffle. It is garnished with 23-carat edible gold, served in a baccarat Harcout crystal goblet that has an 18-carat gold and white diamond bracelet attached to its neck. The dessert costs US$25,000. We wonder if you can take home the goblet.
2. Almas Caviar
When you hear the word ‘caviar,’ you would automatically think of the word ‘expensive.’ But put in the word ‘Almas’ and you would get ‘really, really expensive.’ Almas are produced from the eggs of abino sturgeons which are 50-100 years old, making it extremely rare. The only store where you can buy this delicacy is the Caviar House & Prunier in Picadilly in London. It is sold per kilo at a price range of US$25,000- 30,000.
1. Italian White Alba Truffle
Dubbed as the diamonds of the culinary world, the Italian White Alba truffle is extremely hard to cultivate. The truffle can turn any dish into an exquisite one. This particular truffle usually sells at the $7,680, but a retail investor from Hong Kong once both a 1.51 kilogram from US$160,000.
