Mariah Carey once again trended on Twitter. However, it was not because of an epic performance, but rather a disastrous one.
The diva was set to perform in the “Dick Clark New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2017” as one of the key artists. However, only minutes after walking on-stage, the production encountered some glitches.
Apparently, the vocals for Mariah’s song did not play. She played it cool, though and made the audience sing the lines to her song. She even pulled off some of her dance routines while explaining that they were unable to do proper sound checking. She then paced back and forth, claiming she could not hear the song. She also requested for monitors to be turned on.
After a series of procrastination, the singer finally had enough and walked off stage. Prior to the performance, the producers of the show expressed concern if the diva would be able to make it for the show.
After her meltdown on stage, Mariah tweeted about the incident. However, netizens have already begun trashing her performance.
Although her representatives claim that it was a mere production issue, people already accused Mariah of supposedly lip-syncing. Some made fun of the situation, though, claiming Mariah’s performance was fitting for the year 2016.
