Clash of Clans is an online game now known worldwide. With tactical challenges, unique graphics, eye catching endorsements and the ability to get connected to people all over the globe, COC is able to gather millions of players,some even got addicted.
COC is a strategy game simple enough for even kids to play published by Supercell. COC was released on 2012 for iOS and Android platform.
It is a game that involves starting up a village, keeping it safe from other players who might raid it, upgrading its defenses, and having enough resources to build more infrastructures.
Get Started
You need to download the game. Take note that this is an online game and you need stable internet connection to open the game. Once you had already downloaded the game, you can now open it and start building the base with the help of a tutorial. Create a name for your village, you can only change it once.
You will first be given minimum number of troops, resources and defenses. Set up you village and put your town hall in the middle. Players will try to destroy your base and town hall to collect trophies so you must learn how to strengthen your defenses by maximizing your defenses.
There will be obstacles such as trees and rocks, when you clean them up you can widen the space when you can build your buildings and at the same time you will receive experience points and gems. You can also get more gems from the Achievements.
Tap the Shop icon and choose Defense. Build your defenses around the town hall and your resources. You can upgrade them once you have enough gold and elixir. Upgrade as quick as you can because other players will surely raid your village while you are gone. Protect your town hall and resources. Do not fret if you can’t fit all inside the walls, choose which ones should be well protected.
Do not spend your gems on boosting the upgrades. While it is tempting to do so, you must use your gems wisely because: it is the rarest resources, it is the only thing you can use to buy a builder to build your buildings, and when you need more, you’ll have to buy with real money.
Defend
Protect your village from raids by upgrading your walls to the maximum. COC players uses the term ‘TH Rush’. It is when the player do not maximize the capacity of the town hall and only rush to upgrade the town hall.
Each upgrade of the Town Hall gives you the ability to build new buildings and make defenses stronger. Of course you may want to fill up your storages, but many will want to get it from your village too. If you want to keep your trophies, keep your town hall in the middle of the village, surround it with your defensive infrastructures.
It is fine to leave out some gold mines and elixir storages out of the walls but make sure the archer towers can protect them.
Surround your village with traps. Only you and your clan mates can see the traps.
Raid
It is fine to raid other villages. This way you can fill up your storages faster and you can readily upgrade your buildings. You can also upgrade your troops’ levels with elixir. The higher the level of your troops, the more powerful they will be.
You can combine the troops and see which one works best for you. For example, some uses giants and healers as a combination for those with strong walls.
Before you attack a village, think about your goal. If you aim to just raid for trophies to increase your ‘League’ level, you can look for villages which have the town halls outside the walls. This way you can use few troops to gain trophies. With higher trophies, you can get into higher ‘Leagues’ that will also give rewards such as more gold and elixirs to take home every time you successfully raid a village. If you want to gain more gold and elixir, choose a village with full storages.
After using your troops, create more in your barracks. Do not forget to upgrade your camp to be able to bring larger number of troops.
Build a laboratory, this will let you upgrade your troops. Spell factory can provide spells that can also help you.
Join a clan
Rebuild the Clan Castle located near the middle. Once you did this, you will be able to join a clan and get social. Clan mates can help your village get stronger as they can donate troops in your castle. These troops can either be taken to raid or protect your village while you are online.
You can also have clan wars. Attack other clans and gain experiences to unlock clan perks. The higher the clan level, the more useful perks can be given to your clan like more extra loots in clan was, shorter cool down time for clan castle donation, more troops to donate and rebates on donated troops.
You can meet people, have new friends and build friendship. They can also give tips and make the game more enjoyable.
You can also chat in Global chat t find new members for your clan. You can even create your own clan and lead your mates.
Though it can get competitive at times, remember to just enjoy clashing 🙂
